Socks to combat summer cold sensitivity | 4 recommended pairs for AC and office coldness

Do you ever find that even in the middle of summer, your feet get cold due to overly strong air conditioning in offices, commercial facilities, or on trains? "Summer sensitivity to cold," particularly common among women in their 30s-50s with less muscle mass, is a growing concern in modern times with widespread air conditioning. Thick socks are too hot, but thin socks don't prevent the cold. And sandals or mules that expose your ankles make your feet even colder... The smart way to solve this dilemma is with "five-toe socks." Summer coldness often stems from poor circulation, so warming your feet can help prevent it. If a single pair of socks can address both coldness and swelling, there's no reason not to try them. This article will explain the causes and mechanisms of summer sensitivity to cold and introduce four recommended sock styles from Knitido. Why Does Summer Sensitivity to Cold Occur? Causes and Mechanisms Cause 1: Rapid Cooling of the Body Surface by Air Conditioning In air-conditioned rooms, it's not uncommon for the temperature difference with the outside air to exceed 10°C. The ankles and calves, in particular, are far from the heart and at the extremities of the body, making it difficult for blood to reach them. When the body surface is rapidly cooled, the body constricts the surface capillaries to protect internal organs. This is the direct mechanism of "coldness." Cause 2: Reduced Blood Flow Due to Prolonged Sitting Desk work often involves sitting in the same posture for long periods, leading to inactivity in the calf muscles, often called the "second heart." When the calves are inactive, the pump function that returns blood from the feet to the heart declines, causing blood to pool in the feet, leading to swelling and coldness. The combination of summer air conditioning coldness and prolonged desk work can be considered the worst environment for aggravating sensitivity to cold. Cause 3: Internal Cooling from Cold Drinks and Food In summer, it's easy to consume ice cream and cold drinks, which can cool the internal organs and create a cycle that worsens overall sensitivity to cold. When external air conditioning coldness and internal coldness combine, cold feet can become chronic. Reasons Why Socks Are Recommended for Summer Sensitivity to Cold Wearing socks can help maintain foot temperature and is expected to aid blood circulation throughout the body from the feet. Five-toe socks, in particular, promote blood circulation in the toes because their structure, which encases each toe independently, allows the toes to spread naturally.Additionally, high-crew socks that cover the calves can help alleviate swelling by providing moderate compression to the calves, supporting the muscle pump function. For summer offices, keeping socks under your desk as a cold weather measure is convenient. Furthermore, the choice of material for "summer socks" is crucial. Thick winter socks would cause sweating, so the key is to choose "functional socks that can be worn in summer" that have sweat-wicking and quick-drying properties and appropriate warmth retention. 5 Recommended Socks for Summer Sensitivity to Cold and Air Conditioning 1. FIVE Tag High-Crew These are a reliable pair for summer cold protection. They are high-crew socks from the FIVE series, equipped with five functions: grip, air cushion, arch support, 3D fit, and mesh, covering up to the calves. The arch support gently stimulates the soles of your feet, providing refreshing support for your feet during desk work. They are perfect for wearing under your desk as an office air conditioning countermeasure, a reliable ally that simultaneously cares for "coldness + swelling." [[product handle="000000131086"]] 2. THREE Stripe High-Crew This high-crew model features a stripe pattern as a design accent. With grip, air cushion, support, and 3D fit, they are also a reassuringly functional pair. While they might seem suitable for winter, their breathable material composition makes them perfect for summer office use. The calf-length coverage means they also serve as warm socks when you're concerned about air conditioning cold. The stripe design is subtle and blends naturally with office casual outfits. [[product handle="000000131096"]] 3. HOP Tie-Dye High-Crew This high-crew model features a unique and fun tie-dye pattern. It's recommended for those who want "socks that are fun to wear, not just functional." The colorful tie-dye pattern can brighten your mood. For those who spend a long time with their shoes off in the summer office, or those using them as indoor shoes for remote work, you can enjoy the pattern visible from your feet. [[product handle="000000000208"]] 4. THREE Standard Ankle This is the first pair we recommend trying as an introduction to summer cold protection. It's ideal for those who find high-crew length too hot but still feel a slight chill. Since they are ankle-length, they are easy to wear for outings as summer socks and are useful for casual cold protection in situations where "your feet feel a bit cold indoors." Worn inside shoes, they maintain foot temperature while allowing breathability, also serving as cold protection on air-conditioned trains and in supermarkets. [[product handle="000000000005"]] Summer Cold Protection: What to Do in Conjunction with Socks Incorporate Stretching and Toe Exercises During desk work, performing calf raises (moving your toes up and down) or wiggling your toes about once an hour can stimulate the calf muscle pump and promote blood circulation. Combining socks to maintain foot temperature with regular exercise will enhance the effectiveness of cold protection. Use with a Lap Blanket In addition to socks on your feet, covering your knees and thighs with a lap blanket can prevent your core body from getting cold. The double cold protection of socks + a lap blanket is a classic style for strongly air-conditioned offices and movie theaters. Consciously Drink Warm Beverages In summer, it's easy to drink too many cold beverages, but to prevent internal coldness, consciously incorporate warm tea, hot water, or ginger tea. Combining external sock care with internal warming activities can help improve summer cold sensitivity. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Q. Won't thick socks make my feet sweaty in summer? A. Knitido socks often use moisture-wicking and quick-drying materials, designed to prevent stuffiness even for indoor use in summer. Q. Do five-toe socks really improve coldness? A. Many people feel warmer due to improved blood circulation in their toes. However, the causes of cold sensitivity vary by individual, so socks alone may not completely resolve all cases. Q. Are there socks I can wear with shoes in the office? A. Ankle-length socks are generally easier to wear with pumps or flats. They can be used to keep your feet warm inside your shoes while preventing cold from air conditioning. High-crew models are recommended for those who spend a lot of time with their shoes off (remote work, using indoor slippers). Q. I suffer from summer cold sensitivity, which one should I try first? A. For beginners, THREE Standard Ankle is recommended. You can experience all its features: grip, air cushion, support, and 3D fit. If you wish to continue with serious cold protection, please try a high-crew model (e.g., FIVE Tag High-Crew). Summary: Combat Summer Coldness with a Double Approach of "Socks x Lifestyle Habits" There's no need to give up on summer cold sensitivity as just a matter of constitution. By managing foot temperature in air-conditioned environments and assisting calf blood circulation with socks, combined with regular exercise and hydration, you can take measures against summer coldness. High-crew length socks are recommended for office cold protection, covering up to the calves while promoting toe blood circulation with their five-toe design. If you feel too hot, please try an ankle-length type first.

[[product handle="000000000005"]]   2. [[product handle="000000000145"]] 3.

What is the "support" function of five-toe socks? The effects and how to choose arch support

Many people may feel a decline in their physical strength, finding themselves easily fatigued during long periods of standing or walking, or struggling with balance during Pilates or running. Additionally, many suffer from foot problems such as flat feet or bunions. While it is known that five-toe socks allow the toes to move freely, what is surprisingly less known is how "support functions" work and how they support the feet. This article focuses on the arch support, cushioning, and non-slip features adopted by Knitido+, a specialized brand for five-toe socks. We will explain their characteristics and provide tips on how to choose the right socks for daily life and exercise. What are the "support" functions of five-toe socks? In five-toe socks, "support" functions refer to designs and reinforcement features that support the structure and movement of the foot, enhancing comfort, stability, and performance. Typical examples include: ・Arch support: A function that lifts and supports the arch of the foot. ・Air cushion: Reduces impact on the foot upon landing. ・Non-slip (grip): Helps maintain a firm stance. ・Ankle support: Secures the ankle area with a compression structure to prevent joint instability and twisting. These functions address concerns such as foot fatigue and instability, facilitating more comfortable walking and exercise. The importance of the foot arch Essential for foot support is the function of the arches on the sole of the foot. The arches serve as the foundation that supports the body, deeply influencing posture and movement stability. This chapter explains the roles of the three arches and offers tips for maintaining healthy feet. The role of the three arches on the sole of the foot There are three arches on the sole of the foot: the medial longitudinal arch (instep), the lateral longitudinal arch, and the transverse arch. ■ Medial longitudinal arch Composed of the calcaneus, talus, navicular, cuneiforms, and metatarsals. This is the highest arch, and it absorbs impact during walking and running, acting like a cushion. ■ Lateral longitudinal arch Composed of the calcaneus, cuboid, and fifth metatarsal. It serves as the "base" that supports the body and maintains stability. ■ Transverse arch A dome-shaped arch connecting the bases of the toes. It distributes weight and maintains balance by allowing smooth toe movement. The three arches work together to absorb impact from the ground across the entire sole of the foot, distributing weight efficiently to support the body, and enabling smooth movements like standing, walking, and running. Problems that can occur when the arch collapses When the arch collapses, the distribution of force on the sole of the foot becomes uneven, which can lead to discomfort. If this condition persists, it may affect not only the feet but also posture and movement. Common symptoms include: ・Flat feet ・Bunions ・Heel pain ・Knee discomfort ・Lower back issues If you experience fatigue easily during long periods of standing or walking, it might be related to the balance of your foot arches. Paying attention to your foot arches in daily life and actively moving your feet can lead to healthier, more comfortable feet. Support functions that "adjust" rather than "brace" To protect the foot arches, it is essential to adjust them through movement rather than bracing them rigidly. By naturally using the muscles of the sole and toes, you can enhance the foot's inherent flexibility and sense of balance. Five-toe socks, with their individual toe design, allow for free movement and can help naturally adjust the arch function during daily activities. Cultivating an awareness of your feet and creating an environment where the toe and sole muscles can move is the first step toward maintaining healthy arches. What types of "support functions" does Knitido offer? Knitido's five-toe socks feature various support functions designed to work with the foot's movements. Arch support, air cushioning, non-slip features, and compression designs each contribute differently to supporting the foot. 1. Arch Support Function Arch support is one of the signature features of Knitido's five-toe socks. By combining stretchy material in the midfoot, it creates a structure that effectively supports the three arches of the foot (medial, lateral, and transverse). This design gently conforms to the foot's movements, supporting stability during walking. It is designed to allow the sole of the foot to move naturally even during long periods of standing or exercise. With a fit that adapts to the foot's shape and movement, it enhances overall foot comfort. 2. Air Cushion The patented (Patent No. 6415680) air cushion is a unique Knitido technology. Cushions placed at the forefoot, midfoot, and heel each absorb impact from the ground, supporting comfort during walking and exercise. This feature ensures comfort even in activities that place significant stress on the feet, such as running and walking. It is a thoughtfully designed function that gently supports the foot while valuing the sensation of the sole. 3. Non-slip (Grip) The non-slip function is highly effective in activities like Pilates and yoga, where foot sole sensation is crucial. Grips placed across the entire sole prevent slipping on mats or machines, aiding stable movements. The grip allows for a firm push-off with the toes and provides a sense of security. It helps create an environment where you can concentrate on your movements without slipping, even when sweating. Among these, the "Core Grip" series features an enhanced grip thickness design, popular among those seeking greater stability. 4. Compression Design Knitido+'s compression design fits snugly from the ankle to the midfoot. Its three-dimensional knitting method gently supports the arch and ankle area, preventing the socks from slipping. Rather than tight constriction, it naturally holds the foot in place with movement, making it convenient for prolonged wear. Additionally, items featuring a patented manufacturing method (Patent No. 5377088) that avoids using elastic thread at the opening leave no marks on the leg even after long hours of wear, maintaining a comfortable fit. With its enveloping fit, it comfortably supports daily life. Why experts recommend them: The enhanced foot stability that comes from "support" Firmly creating and aligning the arch of the foot is essential for maintaining overall body stability. The presence or absence of an arch is said to affect standing posture, weight distribution during walking, and movement fluidity. This chapter introduces what experts perceive as "the meaning of supporting the foot." The appeal of five-toe socks, recommended by experts for daily use A distinctive feature of five-toe socks is their ability to allow each toe to move independently. This enhances the ability to grip the ground, naturally encouraging the use of the sole muscles. Kōsuke Morinaga, a lecturer at Hiroshima International University's Department of Comprehensive Rehabilitation, states that "freely moving the toes is important for strengthening the plantar muscles." Ai-ren Song, a Pilates instructor, says she feels a "noticeable difference in foot fatigue" when wearing five-toe socks and uses them daily. Read also[Expert Supervised] Explaining why five-toe socks are effective for bunion prevention and improvement!I want to keep walking for life|Pilates instructor discovers the deep connection between Knitido's five-toe socks and wellness Pilates instructor on the importance of "foot sensation" In Pilates, the sensation derived from the soles of the feet is considered directly linked to overall body stability. For this reason, many instructors believe "barefoot is best." However, studio floors can be slippery or cold, making movement difficult. Takeshi Funakoshi, representative of Pilates Studio DEP, says, "The sensation of the sole of the foot is connected to the entire body. For those whose foot condition is not optimal, the support function of socks can be helpful." Five-toe socks support the arch, preventing foot instability and promoting more stable movements. By preventing coldness and slipping while enhancing foot sensation, five-toe socks are a reliable ally for improving movement quality. Yasunari Shuda, who transitioned from a physical therapist to a Pilates instructor, states, "It's important to focus on building a body that doesn't easily break down, rather than trying to fix it after it's already deteriorated." Shuda himself feels that wearing five-toe socks has reduced unnecessary strain and made him less tired even after long periods of standing. The gentle support function for the soles of the feet helps promote natural posture and movement, serving as a foundation for a healthy daily life. 【専門家監修】扁平足の予防に5本指ソックスが効果的な理由を解説!

[Expert supervision] The reason why five-toe socks are effective in preventing flat feet!

Foot health is essential for comfortable daily life. Among these, do you know that "flat feet," which are surprisingly often overlooked, can cause difficulty walking, swelling, and easy fatigue? In this article, based on an interview with Professor Kosuke Morinaga, Lecturer at the Faculty of Comprehensive Rehabilitation, Hiroshima International University, we introduce basic knowledge about flat feet, preventive measures, and how to use five-toe socks. Please make use of this information for healthy foot care that supports your daily walking. What are flat feet? Flat feet are a condition where the arch of the foot is lowered, and the arch structure collapses. The sole of the foot has a longitudinal arch called the instep, but if the instep is low or this structure collapses, causing the ankle to fall inward, the foot's original function cannot be fully exerted. The collapse of the longitudinal arch structure can affect not only the foot but also posture and balance, so caution is required. Main causes of flat feet ■ Impact of modern lifestyles Those who sit for long periods due to desk work should be careful. Prolonged sitting can lead to weakened foot muscles, increasing the risk of flattening the arch. Also, those with a habit of wearing high heels should be cautious. Hard shoes and high heels hinder the natural movement of the foot and prevent the use of muscles that form the arch, which can exacerbate foot problems. ■ Due to ankle stiffness Ankle stiffness is also a major factor influencing the collapse of the sole arch. If ankle movement is restricted, the necessary movements during walking are hindered, which in turn forces the knees and hips into unnatural movements. This can lead to poor posture and excessive strain on other joints. In particular, if the calf muscles become stiff, the range of motion of the ankle further narrows, making the longitudinal arch of the instep more prone to collapse. ■ Lack of exerciseRegular exercise is essential for strengthening foot muscles and supporting the arch. However, if you lead a sedentary lifestyle due to lack of exercise, the muscles in your feet and soles weaken, and their ability to maintain the arch decreases. This weakening leads to a gradual lowering of the arch, resulting in flat feet. Impact of flat feet on health What kind of impact does a flattened arch have on health? Effects on walking, increased fatigue, and decreased activity are possible, but here we explain the actual risks that may occur. 1. Impact on walking With flat feet, the inner arch of the foot drops, making the ankle prone to tilting inward. Since the skeletal structure of the foot collapses, weight is not properly distributed across the sole. In this state, shock absorption during walking and running is insufficient, putting extra strain on the ankles, knees, and hips. Furthermore, if the flexibility of the movable parts of the foot decreases, the up-and-down movement of the ankle is restricted, leading to inefficient walking. The correct way to walk is to land on the heel and push off the ground with the first and second toes (index finger), but if the arch does not have correct flexibility, the toes cannot be used effectively. Moreover, if conditions such as stiff ankles are added to this situation, people may walk by swinging their feet outwards and swaying their hips, compensating with other parts of their body. 2. Fatigue and decreased activity During walking, the heel is subjected to surprisingly large shocks and loads. For example, for a person weighing 50 kg, approximately 1.2 times their body weight, or 60 kg, is applied to the heel with each step. If the natural curve of the sole collapses, the heel cannot act as a cushion, and the entire sole is subjected to a 60 kg impact. When a large load is applied, the heel alone cannot support it, leading to easily fatigued feet. 3. Impact on posture and balance The feet are the foundation that supports the body. If the arch of the foot collapses, the force cannot be dispersed, and the entire sole must bear the weight. This load is transmitted throughout the body, causing the upper body to unconsciously try to maintain balance, leading to poor posture. With poor posture, stride length is also shorter, and the calf muscles are not fully utilized. If the pumping function of the calf, often called the second heart, declines, it can lead to poor circulation and swelling. Preventing flat feet To prevent flat feet, it is important to review daily lifestyle habits. Maintaining flexibility in the movable parts of the foot and strengthening the sole muscles can keep the arch in a healthy shape, so it is important to be aware of the condition of your feet and continue appropriate care on a daily basis. This chapter introduces three key points for preventing flat feet. 1. Maintain high ankle flexibility Pilates, yoga, and daily stretching can increase flexibility by consciously moving the sole and entire foot. If the ankle joint can be kept soft, it becomes possible to walk with correct posture, landing on the heel and pushing off firmly with the big toe. 2. Wear shoes that fit you Choosing shoes is an important point in preventing flat feet. When purchasing shoes, make sure they fit your feet while wearing socks. It is important to check not only the shoe size but also if the width of the foot is appropriate. When choosing shoes that fit you, pay attention to the following points: ・Sufficient room in the toe box ・A width (waist) that matches the shape of your foot ・The heel fits snugly ・Avoid excessively high heels It is also important to wear different shoes for different purposes, rather than wearing the same pair every day. If you often wear high heels for work, try choosing sneakers on your days off to avoid uneven stress on your feet. 3. Daily awareness To prevent the flattening of the arch, it is important to be aware of your daily habits, such as adopting a correct walking posture and avoiding prolonged sitting. A simple and recommended countermeasure is to wear five-toe socks. Since each toe can move independently, the sensation in the feet during walking is enhanced, making it easier to practice correct walking. Preventing flat feet with five-toe socks The greatest feature of five-toe socks is that each toe can move independently. This makes it easier to push off the ground when walking, and allows natural spreading and bending movements of the toes. Unlike regular socks, the toes can move freely, which can help activate the muscles in the sole of the foot. Synergistic effects with Pilates and Yoga can also be expected Pilates was originally devised as an exercise for the recuperation and rehabilitation of soldiers injured in war. It has the advantage of being able to be performed without undue strain even by those with low physical strength or injuries. The movements of Pilates and five-toe socks are an excellent match. During exercise, it is common to be conscious of the subtle movements of the sole and toes, so wearing five-toe socks allows for a more accurate perception of the foot's condition. Knitido's recommended five-toe socks | Beauty Air Cushion Series The Beauty Air Cushion series are five-toe socks featuring air cushions placed in the center of the forefoot and midfoot to support the arch of the foot, promoting beautiful posture. The original grip on the sole of the foot provides firm body support. The toe-cut type is recommended for those who want to feel the barefoot sensation with their toes while also desiring arch support. These are five-toe socks that support arch awareness with an air cushion in the center of the forefoot and compression in the midfoot. They can be used for various exercises, including Pilates and yoga, and their ankle-length makes them perfect for everyday wear. [[product handle="000000000110"]] Knitido's recommended five-toe socks | Run Air Cushion Series The Run Air Cushion series are five-toe socks with air cushions on the forefoot and heel. They feature an arch support function in the arch area, making them ideal for sports scenes, including running, where the heel is prone to impact. The arch support part uses a strong stretch material, which is expected to improve foot stability and endurance. If you want to cover your ankles, try this low-crew type. It offers the same functionality as the ankle type, but provides strong ankle support. [[product handle="000000000108"]] Summary Foot problems, including flat feet, are not something that happens to others. To be able to walk and live on your own two feet even as you age, it is important to take care of your feet now and be conscious of them in your daily life. "Maintain ankle flexibility, choose the right shoes, and consciously move your toes." This may not be difficult, but continuing it every day might feel a bit challenging. If you are not good at meticulous care or don't have time for stretching, why not start by wearing five-toe socks? Since each toe is independent, your feet will move more freely, naturally strengthening the muscles in the sole. Knitido+ offers a variety of five-toe socks that support foot health and comfortable walking. Please find the pair that suits you best to restore the natural movement of your toes and make your daily walks more comfortable. [Expert Supervised] Why Toe Socks Are Effective for Preventing and Improving Bunions!

Bunions are a common foot problem in modern society. While the main symptom is the bending of the base of the big toe, it can affect not only foot pain but also gait, posture, and overall health. To maintain healthy toes, it is important to activate the plantar muscles and maintain ankle flexibility. This article, based on an interview with Mr. Kosuke Morinaga, Lecturer at the Faculty of Comprehensive Rehabilitation, Hiroshima International University, explains in detail the mechanisms of bunions, preventive methods for maintaining healthy feet, and how five-toe socks can positively impact foot health. What are bunions? Generally, bunions refer to a condition where the big toe (hallux) bends "inward" toward the little toe, and the joint at its base protrudes inward, causing painful foot problems. Characteristic symptoms include pain at the base of the big toe and inflammation due to friction with shoes. If left untreated, the protruding part may swell, or nerve compression may lead to numbness. In recent years, the number of bunion patients has been increasing, with a survey by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare showing an approximately eightfold increase over 33 years from 1984 to 2017 (※1). They are particularly common among people in their 30s to 50s (※2), and over 90% of patients are women (※3). ※1)2020 Patient Survey, Disease Classification (Annual Trend Table by Disease) II. Summary of Results※2)Chiba Medical Association, Foot Diseases "Bunions"※3)Jinko-Kansetsu.com Consult a foot surgeon before bunions worsen! Treatment options are expanding Why do bunions occur? Explaining the 3 main factors There are several factors that contribute to bunions. This time, Mr. Kosuke Morinaga taught us about three of these factors that cause bunions. He says that anyone has the potential to develop bunions. These three factors act individually or in combination to manifest the symptoms. 1. Weakened plantar muscles With less walking and an increase in desk work compared to the past, modern lifestyles provide fewer opportunities to use our feet. When the plantar muscles weaken, the ability to support the arch of the foot also diminishes, gradually leading to flat feet. If it progresses, it can lead to the development of bunions. 2. Stiff ankle joints Ankle stiffness is also a factor that can lead to bunions. If flexibility is lost, the ankle cannot be used properly during walking, putting excessive strain on the front of the foot. A stiff ankle can cause the toes to point inward when walking, which can lead to excessive pressure on the big toe. 3. Choosing shoes that don't fit your feet Wearing shoes that don't fit the width of your feet or high heels for extended periods can compress your toes, preventing them from moving freely. If you spend long hours in such a state, it can put a strain on your feet and increase the risk of deformation. In particular, narrow-toed shoes can push your big toe inward, making it more likely to cause or worsen bunions. The Relationship between Bunions and Flat Feet In many cases, bunions and flat feet often occur together. Flat feet are a condition where the heel collapses inward, or the arch of the sole decreases due to relaxed plantar muscles. The arch acts as a cushion to absorb shock during walking. If the arch malfunctions and is left untreated, it can lead to uneven propulsion during walking and uneven pressure on the sole of the foot, causing the forefoot to widen or calluses (hardened skin) to form on the sole. In other words, weakened plantar muscles lead to flat feet, which in turn can progress to bunions. Furthermore, restricted ankle movement can also weaken the calf muscles. The calves are often called the "second heart" and play a crucial role in pumping blood throughout the body. If this pumping function declines, it can lead to poor circulation and swelling. In addition, poor posture can also lead to upper body problems such as stiff shoulders and neck pain. Health Impacts of Bunions Bunions are a problem that can cause not only foot pain but also various effects on walking and overall health. 1. Impact on walking The ideal way to walk correctly is to land on the heel, shift your weight forward, and then push off the ground with your toes. At the end of the stride, efficient propulsion is achieved by pushing off the ground primarily with the big toe, or the second toe (index finger), which is the longest toe. However, when a bunion develops, the big toe cannot function properly, and the stride length shortens. A shorter stride length means more steps to reach the destination, and the distance per step is reduced. It also affects foot fatigue and blood circulation. 2. Decreased activity due to pain Pain caused by bunions can affect the level of activity in daily life. Foot pain can make long walks or standing work difficult, naturally leading to a reduction in exercise. A decrease in exercise leads to further weakening of the foot muscles, which in turn makes walking even more difficult, creating a vicious cycle. It is important to make an effort to do simple exercises, such as daily walks, that can be continued. Prevention and Improvement Measures for Bunions To protect your body and live a healthy life as you age, it's important to take measures against preventable problems. It is crucial to pay attention to the condition of your feet, which are the foundation of basic daily movements such as walking, running, and standing, and to take appropriate care. 1. Appropriate shoe selection and insoles Choosing shoes that fit your feet properly is very important. When choosing shoes, if you wear socks that you would typically wear with those shoes, you can avoid problems such as the shoes being too tight or too loose. Also, because your foot moves forward slightly in the shoe while walking, proper space is needed in the toe area. If you experience pain in the forefoot due to bunions, wearing shoes with a toe spring (upturned toe) or, if your ankles are stiff, choosing shoes or insoles with a slightly raised heel part can make walking easier. If you often wear business shoes or heels for work for long periods, alternating with comfortable athletic shoes on weekends or during commutes can help reduce the strain on your feet. 2. Combination with Pilates Pilates is a fitness method that is expected to be effective in activating plantar muscles and improving ankle flexibility. Since it was originally developed as an exercise for the recuperation and rehabilitation of soldiers injured in war, it has the advantage of being doable without overexertion for people with low physical strength or injuries. Pilates involves focusing on the inner muscles and paying attention to how the toes are used, allowing you to engage with your body through subtle movements. Wearing five-toe socks during Pilates allows you to be conscious of the movement of each individual toe, making the exercise more effective. Combining Pilates to strengthen the plantar muscles with five-toe socks to support the feet can lead to more effective foot health. Positive effects of five-toe socks on toe health To prevent bunions, it is important to strengthen the plantar muscles and maintain the arch properly. For this, it is crucial to ensure that each toe can move freely. Five-toe socks, with their independent toe compartments, allow each toe to move freely, enabling natural movements like being barefoot. Some even come with arch support, so simply wearing them in daily life can help strengthen the plantar muscles. Five-toe socks allow the big toe to push down firmly, more so than regular socks, making it easier to gain propulsion when walking. Additionally, they make it easier to feel each toe, which helps you become more aware of your walking style and notice any habits. 1. The Importance of Free Toe Movement Walking barefoot on a sandy beach has long been known as an exercise to strengthen the feet. This is because the action of clenching the sand with each individual toe helps strengthen the plantar muscles. The key point here is that each toe can move freely and independently. If you can perform this action without going to the beach, you can train your plantar muscles in your daily life. The movement of the big toe is particularly important, as its upward movement (dorsiflexion) is a crucial key to maintaining the arch of the foot. However, with regular socks where each toe cannot move freely, natural movement is restricted. That's why we recommend five-toe socks with arch support. The ability to wrap each toe and allow each one to move freely is a unique strength of five-toe socks. Mr. Morinaga also recommends wearing five-toe socks in daily life as a very good preventive measure for bunions and to maintain the arch of the foot. 2. Supports activation of plantar muscles In modern life, where people walk less than in the past, the plantar muscles are not sufficiently used. It is important to consciously activate them to prevent muscle weakness. If you can move your five toes freely, you can perform delicate movements such as pushing with your little toe or applying force with your big toe. These movements stimulate and activate the plantar muscles. Pilates movements, which focus on and apply force to specific parts of the feet and body, can also be considered training to strengthen the plantar muscles. Wearing five-toe socks won't instantly strengthen your plantar muscles and cure bunions or flat feet in a day, but creating moments in your daily life to focus on your feet is the quickest way to improve problems. Benefits of Five-Toe Socks: A Look at Their Functionality, Health Advantages, and Use Cases

With the growing popularity of Pilates and yoga, you've probably heard more about "five-toe socks." Many of you may be wondering what the difference is between them and regular socks, and what benefits they offer. This article delves into the surprising effects and practical benefits of five-toe socks, including situations where they excel. Discover how this item, which supports health and comfort from your feet up, can be useful in your daily life and fitness routine. Benefits in Comfort and Functionality Have you ever experienced cold toes even while wearing socks? Cold toes can lead to poor blood circulation throughout the body and potentially cause health issues. Five-toe socks are excellent items that not only warm your feet but also eliminate stickiness and discomfort from sweat. The secret lies in their structure, where each toe is separated, unlike conventional socks. This chapter introduces the various benefits of five-toe socks, including cold prevention, improved blood circulation, and reduced stuffiness. Cold Prevention Because the toe section of five-toe socks is divided into five parts, it allows for free movement of the toes, which is difficult with traditional socks. Freely moving your toes promotes blood flow, leading to the prevention of cold feet. Knitido's five-toe socks also focus on materials, using organic cotton that can create an air layer. The soft, highly insulating fabric between each toe helps keep the space between the toes warm. When choosing five-toe socks, it's a good idea to pay attention to the material. Improved Blood Circulation and Coldness Five-toe socks allow your toes to move freely because they are individually separated, which naturally activates the foot muscles. This promotes blood circulation, leading to improved blood flow and reduced coldness. Knitido series, designed to maintain the three arches of the foot—inner, outer, and transverse—correctly, supports your feet just by wearing them. In addition, the world's first air cushion [Patent No. 6415680] that supports the entire body is woven into the sole of the foot. The unique cushion firmly supports the sole of the foot, allowing you to walk and exercise with a more correct balance than usual, and enabling the muscles of the sole of the foot to be used properly. Improve the function of your sole by wearing five-toe socks. Reduced stuffiness Many people are concerned about stuffiness when wearing socks for long periods. Especially during exercise or in hot weather, sweat can make your feet feel uncomfortable. Five-toe socks often have good breathability because there is space between the toes, so they can be expected to reduce stuffiness. We recommend the "COOLMAX Ankle." It's a pair with excellent breathability and quick-drying properties. Benefits during sports Have you ever felt the need for more grip when holding a pose during Pilates or yoga? To maintain a stable form, it's crucial to firmly press your feet into the ground. In other sports, such as running, the stress on your feet during intense exercise is much greater than you might imagine. The longer you run, the more the impact on your toes accumulates, sometimes leading to pain or injury. However, five-toe socks can alleviate the burden on your toes. We will explain the various benefits that five-toe socks bring to sports performance, such as improved grip in Pilates and yoga, enhanced overall balance, and reduced stress on the toes during running. Better Grip Five-toe socks are characterized by their excellent grip. With conventional socks, where the toes are not separated, it can be difficult to get a strong grip on the ground. However, five-toe socks allow each toe to move independently, giving you the sensation of gripping the ground barefoot. They will prove effective in situations where poses need to be held, such as Pilates and yoga. Stability on the mat will also improve, making it easier to direct focus to the areas where you want to exert force. [[product handle="000000000049"]] knitido offers "Core Grip," which has 1.5 times the gripping power (according to our research). Check out knitido's Core Grip series! Reduced Stress on Toes During intense or prolonged exercise, stress on the feet can lead to major problems or injuries. Five-toe socks are designed so that impact is easily distributed across the entire foot, and the structure prevents stress from concentrating on specific areas, ensuring comfortable wear even during long walks or runs. [[product handle="000000000101"]] Knitido's "Run Air Cushion" for running is equipped with a patented air cushion to further enhance its shock absorption effect on the feet. The air cushion is placed to fit the sole of the foot, effectively absorbing impact from hard ground. Furthermore, the arch support section uses a strong stretch material. This more effectively disperses the impact during running and enhances foot stability. View Support Products! Health Promotion Effects In modern society, more and more people spend their lives in environments that put a strain on their feet, such as wearing restrictive shoes or working long hours standing. Therefore, creating an environment that allows the toes to utilize their natural functions is increasingly considered important. Easier to Learn Correct Walking Habits One of the health benefits of five-toe socks is that they help you learn proper walking habits. Proper walking involves landing on the heel, rolling through the outside of the foot, and pushing off with the big toe. When you walk in five-toe socks, force is evenly distributed across all your toes, making it easier to maintain correct posture. Knitido's five-toe socks are designed with the foot arch in mind, supporting natural foot movement. Their comfortable design aids walking. Supports Natural Toe Movement Bunion is a common foot problem that many modern people suffer from. Five-toe socks can prevent the big toe from turning inward, and it's also possible to wear a splint while wearing the socks. By allowing the toes to spread properly, it can also disperse pressure concentrated on the big toe, so it's recommended to wear them as a preventative measure. Furthermore, in settings like Pilates and yoga, they support muscle strengthening and flexibility improvement through exercise. The design, which does not impede the natural movement of the toes, supports the toes' inherent freedom of motion. Summary Five-toe socks are excellent for supporting overall body health. They offer many wonderful benefits, such as improved comfort, functional advantages, enhanced sports performance, and health-promoting effects. With knitido's high-quality materials and technology, you can experience the effects introduced in this article at a higher level. Five-toe socks, created with patented original technology, carefully selected materials, and a design that enhances functionality, are sure to improve your quality of life.
