Toe socks and Pilates

The three arches of the sole of the foot support posture.

The soles of the feet have three arch structures running inward, outward, and horizontally, which play an important role in supporting the body and absorbing impact during movement.

When the arch of the foot collapses, the impact transmitted from the sole of the foot is directly transferred to the knees, hips, lower back, shoulders, and neck, making it easy for uneven forces to be applied throughout the body.

As a result, this can lead to problems such as:

  • Slipping on the soles of the feet, making it difficult to concentrate on poses
  • Unstable footing and an unstable posture
  • Feeling tired in your feet after a lesson

Knitting Technology for Ultimate Comfort

We pursue the ultimate comfort through our unique technologies, such as "Ubilax" (Patent No. 5377088), which features a knitting method designed to fit the toes, a three-dimensional knitting method that wraps around the heel, and an opening that is less constricting.

Many instructors also use knitido's five-toed socks.

"I realized my feet weren't getting tired at all compared to before."

Another reason I bought them was because other instructors were using them and recommending them. When I actually tried them on, I realized my feet weren't getting tired at all compared to before. That's when I understood the importance of socks, and I started buying more and more. They have strong grip and the fabric quality is excellent. Since I prioritize foot care more than most people, I always check the functional aspects.
Even if I try other brands, none of them have everything that knitido does.

"knitido socks are as important as shoes"

At first, I was attracted by their cuteness. The combination of socks and leg warmers is very nice. Now I don't wear any socks other than knitido. I use them for everyday wear as well as for activities.

What I particularly like is the cushion in the center of the forefoot. The cushion is thick and absorbs impact, and its placement is also comfortable. It effectively helps prevent injuries and maintain balance.

Starting with the feet.

Regulating your breathing.

Adjusting your posture.

Gently focusing on your body's sensations.

Pilates is a time

to quietly connect with yourself.

The movements are supported by

your feet, always.

Pressing down.

Stretching.

Supporting.

Even a small movement of a toe

connects to the balance of the entire body.

knitido

has been making five-finger socks for over 40 years.

It began in 1981.

In a small factory in Wakayama,

from modifying a glove knitting machine.

"If the toes could move more freely,

wouldn't the body naturally align better?"

Born from this idea, a pair of socks

is still carefully knitted by artisans.

What we valued for Pilates was

the stability felt through the soles of the feet and a comfortable barefoot sensation.

By allowing the toes to move freely,

your center of gravity is aligned,

leading to flexible movements on machines and mats.

Not to push yourself,

but to move comfortably.

Not to look beautiful,

but to align yourself naturally.

Self-care starting from your feet,

accompanying your daily condition.

One step at a time, towards comfortable days.

Every step, better days
